Do you have a passion for inclusion and an interest in special needs? If so, we have an opportunity not to be missed! A position has become available in our High Needs Communication and Interaction Needs Centre (CoIN) known as Butterflies, which is part of Dovers Green School, Reigate.

This is a particularly exciting time for Butterflies, because we are about to move into a brand new, purpose built and designed setting for children with Special Educational Needs. It will provide the most amazing teaching and learning environment!

Experience in working with children with social communication needs, including those with a diagnosis of autism, would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided. What is more important is your passion for teaching children with special needs, your willingness to learn and being a team player.

We offer a friendly, caring staff that work together supporting one another to provide the very best education for all children and a school committed to the continued professional development of all members of the staff team.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has knowledge of both EYFS and KS1 curriculums
  • is committed to high educational standards which maximise the progress of all children
  • is a reflective practitioner and willing to learn
  • can confidently use ICT to enhance learning across the curriculum
  • believes wholeheartedly in an inclusive ethos
  • is willing to undertake training in order to meet the needs of those with complex needs
  • has an ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences
  • wants to work as part of a team sharing ideas
  • has a good sense of humour

We can offer you:

  • a dedicated whole school community with an inclusive ethos where every child is special
  • a friendly, welcoming, hardworking and committed staff
  • supportive governors and parents
  • a very well-resourced, vibrant and creative working environment
  • excellent opportunities for professional development
  • a supportive and forward thinking leadership team

The closing date for applications is 12pm on Thursday 15 May. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview on Wednesday 21 May. Visits to the school are highly recommended. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of our Trust. We strive to create a diverse and inclusive environment and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you need any specific support or require alternative formats, please contact us.
