Gwernyfed High School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Operations and Facilities Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role, ensuring that our school runs efficiently, safely, and sustainably, enabling our staff and learners to achieve their very best.
About the role
As a fully functioning member of the SLT, to contribute to the, operational procedures and management of the school and be responsible for the development, management and operation of all the school’s business functions (e.g health and safety, compliance, policies), including:
Leading on health and safety, compliance and risk management
Overseeing premises, facilities, and site development
Managing key operational systems and processes across the school
Line managing a range of support staff, including site, IT and operational teams
Supporting governance through high-quality reporting and advice
Leading on capital projects, contracts and value for money
You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the school environment is safe, well-maintained and supports excellent outcomes for all learners
About you
We are looking for a talented professional who:
Has significant experience in operations, business or facilities management within a complex organisation
Is confident working at senior leadership level, contributing to strategic decision-making
Has strong knowledge of health and safety, compliance and risk management systems
Can effectively lead and manage teams, projects and resources
Demonstrates excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills
Is committed to high standards, continuous improvement and supporting a positive school environment
Experience in education or the public sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
