Finance and Information Manager

Gwernyfed High School is seeking to appoint an exceptional and highly motivated Finance and Information Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a key strategic role within the school, offering an exciting opportunity to lead and shape our financial, data and administrative systems to support continued school improvement.
About the role
As a fully functioning member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), contribute to the direction, operational procedures and management of the school. You will lead on:
Financial management and strategic planning, including budgeting, forecasting and ensuring value for money
Data and information systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance and effective use across the school
HR processes, including safer recruitment, onboarding and staff absence management
Business and administrative systems, driving efficiency and compliance with statutory requirements
Line management of key support staff, including finance, data, IT and examinations
You will work closely with the Headteacher, SLT, Governing Body and Local Authority, providing high-quality advice, analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
About you
We are looking for a professional who:
Has significant experience in financial and business management, ideally in education or a similarly complex organisation
Has a strategic mindset alongside strong operational skills
Is confident working at senior level and contributing to whole-school leadership
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships
Demonstrates integrity, resilience and a commitment to confidentiality
A recognised financial qualification (e.g. AAT, CIPFA, CCAB) is desirable, or a willingness to work towards this with Local Authority support.
