It has been my privilege to be the Head of School for Hallam Fields since September 2018, having joined Lionheart Educational Trust in 2015. Our pupils never cease to amaze me by their creativity, resilience, curiosity, perseverance, collaboration and so much more! They simply shine within our school and are our true ‘Hallam Heroes’.
Our overriding passion is for all students to ‘be successful in whatever they choose to do’. We aim to instil our values and ethos and for our students to develop as a person to become responsible community and global citizens. We therefore encourage all of our pupils to use their 6Rs and character strengths to support them in their development. We work together to support our local community.
The foundation of our Trust is built on a perfect balance of Academic Excellence and Holistic Development. Academic Excellence is crucially important but the learning experiences for Hallam Fields students is not confined to the classroom. We are fully committed to the idea of an all-round education where holistic development and character education are a key integrated part of our curriculum.
Our School is well served by a ‘family team’ of highly committed teachers and support staff, who frequently go the extra mile to provide the very best possible education for all. We work closely with parents and stakeholders to develop positive relationships for all of our pupils.
We are extremely proud of our “Hallam Heroes” and if you take the opportunity to come and meet us all we believe you will see why.
Head of School, Hallam Fields Primary School
Hallam Fields Primary School is a one-form entry school which was purpose-built and opened in late August 2017 to serve the Hallam Fields estate on the west side of Birstall, Leicestershire. It is a happy school that celebrates the ‘Hallam Heroes’; where the children – with huge smiles on their faces – proudly show their work to the Headteacher.
The school strives to offer high quality educational provision for all pupils and plays a strong part in the Lionheart Educational Trust’s vision for Birstall, taking its place alongside the two other local Primary Schools.
We aim to develop pupils who have a love for learning. Our '6 R's – Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness, Resilience, Reflection and Reciprocity' – underpin all aspects of our school and develop our school culture.
Our staff work hard to create a culture that will help develop inquiring minds and the ability to work with a sense of purpose; we want them to ‘Nurture, Inspire, Flourish…Together We Shine.’
Our philosophy is clear. We promote a pupil-centered approach that is underpinned by the understanding that the highest quality education is a right that all young people deserve regardless of their starting points. We are dedicated to providing young people with the strongest foundations; educational achievement that they can feel proud about because their education has taught them how to feel proud. We know that promoting a positive, proactive approach that celebrates success unites school communities and breaks down barriers to learning. We believe that developing children’s character is as important as securing their academic achievement. We celebrate making mistakes and learning from them. We listen to what children have to say and work with them to make the school the best it can be.
Hallam Fields is a place where children can grow, be happy in their learning and experience success. To achieve this, we are committed to the recruitment of innovative and inspiring teachers who will deliver a vibrant curriculum linked to real-life skills and knowledge. If this sounds like you, we’d welcome your application to join us on our journey.
