The Havelock Schools are places where each individual is encouraged to shine and develop to their full potential on their own path to greatness.

We believe that everybody is unique and our role is to cherish and celebrate individuality, whilst working together as part of a learning community. Everybody can succeed through determination, hard work and encouragement which is why learning warrior behaviours are so important to our philosophy – warriors stick at it when the going gets tough and ‘never, ever, ever give up’. We also believe that learning happens when we find things tricky. If we could do everything easily we wouldn’t need to go to school! That’s when it’s even more important to show your warrior qualities.

As a federated Infant and Junior School we cover ages 4 to 11 years and the schools combined can accommodate approximately 630 children in a 3 class intake from Reception to Year 6. From September 2013 The Havelock Schools gained academy status and in March 2026 we joined Symphony Learning Trust.

In January 2024 Havelock Infant School was inspected and successfully maintained their OFSTED ‘outstanding’ status. In June 2023 Havelock Junior School was inspected and successfully maintained their OFSTED ‘good’ rating.

Havelock Schools are the first step in the most important journey of a child’s life – their education. It is through education that we become responsible citizens in today’s society and realise potential opportunities that are on offer. We, as a staff, recognise this responsibility and ensure that the children in our care enjoy their first few years of education and treasure happy memories of their time with us.

School Community

Our school community is at the heart of everything we do, and we love bringing families together through special events across the year. Highlights include our much-loved Easter Bonnet Parade through the town, a joyful celebration of creativity and community spirit. We also come together for our Summer Festival, where country dancing takes centre stage and parents are warmly encouraged to join in alongside their children. These shared experiences help create lasting memories and strengthen the close, supportive community that makes Havelock Schools so special.

NEW – Play Zones

Children can enjoy a wide range of resources that support active, creative and imaginative play at lunchtime. Through opportunities to explore, build, create and collaborate, play helps develop social skills, confidence and wellbeing, ensuring children return to the classroom happy, refreshed and ready to learn. Outdoor Space

We make the most of our outdoor environment, with every space put to good use. From the tyre park and adventure playground to the trim trail, gardening area, outdoor classroom, several playgrounds and grass area.

Music

Music plays a vibrant and important role in life at Havelock Schools, helping children to develop confidence, creativity and a love of performance. Each year, all pupils take part in a concert for parents, held either in school or at the local church, where they showcase their talents and celebrate their progress in front of a supportive audience. In addition, pupils have the opportunity to extend their learning through specialist music lessons including guitar, drums and Rocksteady, allowing them to explore different instruments and express themselves.

Young Voices 

Taking part in Young Voices allows children to discover the joy of music in a fun and supportive environment. Singing together in a large choir teaches teamwork, resilience, and focus, while performing on a professional stage gives a real sense of achievement. Beyond musical skills, experience supports children to develop confidence, pride in their abilities, and make unforgettable memories. 

Work Experience

Our children have a range of opportunities to take on leadership roles within school, including becoming lunchtime librarians, zone leaders, school councillors and members of the sports crew. These roles help them develop responsibility, confidence, teamwork and valuable life skills.
