As the Curriculum leader of Maths, you will lead our department across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, overseeing the curriculum, teaching, and assessment strategies to ensure high standards of student achievement. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and support a team of dedicated teachers. Experience of Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential. Additionally, the role requires effective management and coordination across our split-site model, ensuring consistency and excellence in mathematical education throughout our school. About you:
You will be:
- a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent teaching qualification.
- able to deliver the curriculum in your chosen area and consistently teach high quality lessons across relevant key stages.
- able to meet the needs of learners from key identified groups, including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND and High Attaining students.
- a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change, motivate colleagues and build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- able to recognise, value and support the delivery of opportunities which extend beyond the confines of classroom delivery and seek to enrich and add value to the students experience & learning.
- empowered to develop your own expert practice and support the development of others.
- highly competent in all elements of the Teachers’ Standards and your achievements and contribution will be substantial and sustained as an Upper Pay Scale teacher.

About Winterstoke Hundred Academy:
Winterstoke Hundred Academy have students in all year groups, being oversubscribed in Years 7 to 10. Year 11 who were our first cohort of learners are a slightly smaller cohort and we have a thriving sixth form with students in Years 12 and 13. The development of the new building, which opened in 2024, saw us nearing capacity as a split-site, medium-scale 11–19 Academy. We celebrate the fact that, as a new provision, our culture, ethos and values have been ours to define from the beginning, and we are able to decide what is important to take with us into the future as we grow.
