Your opportunity to join John Cabot Academy as a qualified Head of Key Stage 3 (Associate Assistant Principal):
Working as senior leader and member of the extended Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the Key stage 3 pastoral teams. A team of 6 colleagues across years 7, 8 & 9. Your pastoral responsibilities will include behaviour, anti-bullying, attendance and safeguarding.
The JCA vision ‘consistent boundaries and well understood routines, which are the key to keeping children safe and therefore able to explore, develop and express their individual identities. As such, we have well established policies for our pastoral work. The postholder will rigorously ensure that the academy’s systems, policies and procedures are working smoothly and effectively on a day-to-day basis. But will also be able to plan strategically to lead others to address areas for development.
We are looking for a colleague who is willing to grow and develop professionally, gaining significant strategic leadership experience which will support a career pathway to becoming Assistant Principal in the future.
About you:
You will be:
- a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent teaching qualification.
- have professional knowledge of what consitutes high quality and standards in teaching and learning.
- ability to write reports, keep accurate records and communicate effectively
- proven ability as an excellent classroom teacher
- experience of leading an aspect of whole school development
- ability to Lead and Manage a team.
- understanding of curriculum and assessment of pupil progress
