Class Teacher

We are a happy learning community near the centre of Leicester in the Highfields area. We have 370 children in school aged from 3 to 11 years. We are very proud of our school community and the achievement of all our pupils. 

We take care to ensure that families and children receive a warm welcome, and that all pupils make an excellent start to their education.

At Highfields Primary School, we are continually striving to provide the best education that our children deserve. Although we are an 'outstanding' school, we know we have the capacity to improve even further. Because of this, we are always looking for ways to enrich our children and give them the best start in their early education so they have a solid foundation of which to build on in their later years.

We have a committed staff team who are helping each child make the best possible progress. We use many strategies to support learning. These include high staff-to-pupil ratios, targeted group work, bi-lingual support and mentoring programmes. We aim to ensure that our children enjoy and achieve in all areas of their personal, social and academic education. 

The Attenborough Learning Trust is a brand new multi-academy trust that has been set up by the founding schools:

- Charnwood Primary School

- Greenlane Infants School

- Highfields Primary School

- Sparkenhoe Community Primary School

- Uplands Infants School

Our aim is to develop a formal education partnership based on a Multi-Academy-Trust (MAT) model.

The primary objective of the partnership is to deliver increased learning opportunities for children, broadening the perspective of all young people so that they and their families place no limits on their opportunities and ambitions, in order to achieve improved outcomes and life chances for all.
