Bristol Grammar School is looking to appoint a Deputy Head (Pastoral including Safeguarding) to join the leadership team in the Infant and Junior School, from September 2026.

The Deputy Head will assist the Head of the Infant and Junior School in the delivery of School strategy, and to oversee the pastoral care of all pupils across the school. They will also hold the position of Designated Safeguarding Lead and be part of the wider whole school Safeguarding Team.

Responsibilities will include oversight of behaviour management, promoting positive behaviour for learning and consistency of approach through the school, lead on pupil wellbeing and mental health and providing support for the pastoral role of all form tutors through training and advice as necessary.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher who has previous experience of a leadership role within a school and is able to promote a love of learning.

The successful candidate will have a deep resonance with the Schools Mission, Aims and Values which should be clearly reflected at both the application and interview stages.
