The Role
- Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured English lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Inspire a love of literature, language, and creative expression through dynamic and inclusive teaching approaches
- Develop pupils’ reading, writing, and analytical skills, preparing them for success in public examinations
- Support pupils of all abilities in achieving their full academic potential
- Contribute actively to the co-curricular life of the school (e.g. drama, debating, creative writing, publications)
- Work collaboratively within the department to plan, assess, and refine curriculum delivery
About You
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Possess a degree in English or a closely related field
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking
- Have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach across the age and ability range, ideally including KS5
- Show strong classroom management and a clear focus on pupil progress and achievement
- Be a collaborative, reflective practitioner who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and pupil-centred
