Are you passionate about English and eager to inspire the next generation of readers, writers, and critical thinkers?

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic English teacher to join our vibrant Senior School team, teaching pupils from KS3 to KS5. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver a rich and engaging curriculum, while making a meaningful contribution to our co-curricular programme and the wider life of the school.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured English lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Inspire a love of literature, language, and creative expression through dynamic and inclusive teaching approaches
  • Develop pupils’ reading, writing, and analytical skills, preparing them for success in public examinations
  • Support pupils of all abilities in achieving their full academic potential
  • Contribute actively to the co-curricular life of the school (e.g. drama, debating, creative writing, publications)
  • Work collaboratively within the department to plan, assess, and refine curriculum delivery


About You

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Possess a degree in English or a closely related field
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking
  • Have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach across the age and ability range, ideally including KS5
  • Show strong classroom management and a clear focus on pupil progress and achievement
  • Be a collaborative, reflective practitioner who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and pupil-centred
