Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking an exceptional Lead Swimming Teacher & Coach to join our PE and Aquatics team. The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and coordinating outstanding swimming lessons across the College’s Learn-to-Swim programme and competitive swimming squads, while supporting the ongoing development of aquatics provision at Dulwich College (Singapore).

Reporting to the Head of Aquatics and Director of Sport, you will work collaboratively within a dynamic team to ensure swimming at DCSG continues to progress from good to great.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality swimming lessons and coaching sessions across all age groups, from beginner to competitive squad swimmers.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate swimming programmes that support student progression and enjoyment.
  • Coordinate aspects of the Learn-to-Swim programme, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently and in line with current best practice.
  • Organise and deliver junior extra-curricular swimming programmes, competitions, galas, weekend sessions and swimming-related events.
  • Prepare and support swimming teams for FOBISIA, ACSIS and other local and international swim meets, including liaison with Team Managers.
  • Monitor student progress through assessments, evaluations and reports.
  • Manage pool resources and ensure a safe, tidy and well-maintained pool environment.
  • Stay up to date with swimming regulations, coaching developments and safeguarding requirements.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the College and undertake other duties commensurate with the role.

 

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an enthusiastic and committed swimming professional who enjoys working with young people in an educational setting and is driven to raise standards.

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold recognised swim teaching and/or coaching qualifications, registered with an appropriate National Governing Body (e.g. NROC in Singapore).
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, qualifications such as: ASA Level 3 Swimming Teacher (or Level 2 with progression to Level 3), or Swim Australia Teacher of Competitive Swimming / Bronze Coach (with progression to Silver), or equivalent.
  • Have demonstrable experience teaching swimming across all levels, including Learn-to-Swim programmes.
  • Have coaching experience with age-group and youth swimmers.
  • Ideally have experience working within a school environment.
  • Be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire students.
  • Be a proactive, flexible team player with energy, drive and enthusiasm.
  • Hold appropriate swimming first aid and lifesaving qualifications, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
