Location: This role is offered on a hybrid basis, which involves a combination of working from our Market Harborough office and remotely - consideration may be given to remote working.
This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis - 35hrs per week.
Salary: c£45k, dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications.
We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a talented and detail-driven Management Accountant to join us. Working closely with the Director of Finance and Operations, the successful candidate will play a central role in driving financial insight and supporting sound decision-making across HMC’s activities.
This vital post will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely management accounts, supporting budget management, contributing to strategic planning, and enhancing our financial systems and reporting processes. The role calls for care, accuracy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly and confidently to a range of stakeholders.

What You Will Be Doing
- Act as a key business partner, providing financial decision support and commercial insight to department leads.
- Support the development of financial models to inform strategic and operational decision-making.
- Contribute to strategic and operational decision-making through insightful reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Support year-end processes, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external auditors.
- Oversee financial management for all areas of the business including conferences, membership services and commercial activity, providing financial advice and challenging assumptions to ensure value for money.
- Support the Director of Finance and Operations in streamlining and professionalising financial processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and support for the Director of Finance and Operations in the preparation of Board and Committee reports.
- Act as a “super user” for our financial systems (Xero).
About You
- Part qualified or qualified professional accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience in a management accountant role.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in driving business performance through effective financial communication and decision support.
- Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
- Experience working with budget holders and senior stakeholders.
