We are looking for a Visiting Music Teacher Cello to join our thriving Music Department.
You will teach individual pupils throughout the school age range (Year 3 - Year 13), tailoring lessons to suit the abilities of each individual pupil. Depending on the interests and skills of the appointee, there may also be opportunities to coach ensembles and to take part in school performances.
You will be an outstanding musician, an effective communicator, and an inspiring teacher, who is able to teach from beginner to post-grade-8 standard.
You will be engaged on a self-employed basis (term time only) and will be responsible for creating your own timetable in line with school guidelines, to ensure weekly lessons of 30 minutes are taught to your pupils. The number of pupils will vary due to demand but is likely to initially be between half and one day per week. You are required to invoice parents of your pupils directly. Visiting Music Teachers all charge the same tuition fee, which is agreed annually and kept in line with the neighbouring music service: from September 2025, the agreed rate is £235 for a set of 10 30-minute lessons.
The Girls’ Day School Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection checks appropriate to the post, including online searches and checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
