The Opportunity

Haberdashers’ Monmouth School is seeking to appoint a part-time Teacher of Biology on a fixed-term contract from April 2026 to the end of the Michaelmas term, in the first instance.

The successful applicant will be a well‑qualified, highly motivated, and innovative Biology teacher, possessing excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach confidently up to A Level.

This is a temporary, part-time role for 29.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering well-planned, focused lessons to engage, support and stretch all learners
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the attainment, progress and development of pupils
  • Providing or contributing to written assessments, reports and references relating to individual pupils and groups of pupils
  • Contributing to the Biology department’s resources and learning objectives through the creation of schemes of work and programmes of study
  • Participating in arrangements for further training and professional development as a teacher

You demonstrate a strong passion for Biology and the ability to communicate complex concepts with clarity and precision. As a confident, adaptable teacher, you create engaging lessons with a commitment to supporting pupils of all abilities. You contribute positively to the wider department and uphold the values and expectations of the School.
