Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Actual Annual Salary: £19,511 – £21,267

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £25,941 - £28,275 (CLF Grade B)

Contract Type: Fixed-Term, Part Time

Contract Length: Fixed until 31/08/2026

Hours: 32.5 Hours

Additional role info: Working Pattern = Monday to Friday (6.5hrs per day)

Provisional Start Date: 12th November 2025

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide one-to-one support for a high-needs autistic child in Year One. This role involves delivering consistent and structured assistance throughout the school day, helping to create a safe and supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will also be deployed flexibly across the school to promote inclusion and support learning in other classes as needed. Working closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and other support staff, you will help implement personalised strategies tailored to individual needs and contribute positively to the wider school community.

You will:

  • have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and how a teaching assistant supports students in their learning.
  • be able to engage students and manage behaviour on a one to one or small group basis.
  • be committed to undertake relevant qualifications, e.g. relevant NVQ Level 2/ 3 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent, first aid qualification, to ensure ongoing professional development.
  • be able to engage students and manage behaviour on a one to one or small group basis.
  • have strong interpersonal skills, in particular with the ability to demonstrate empathy and active listening.
  • have good planning and organisational skills, specifically with regard to learning activities and support materials.
  • be someone with a keen interest in working with children and commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all.
