Hours:  Part Time, 22.5 Hours, All Year Round

Working Pattern:

Monday-Friday: 7am - 11:30am

What we are looking for:

To be successful in the post, we want a dependable Premises Assistant to undertake a range of duties from day-to-day repairs to waste collection. You will take instruction from the Premises Manager, work well as a member of an established team and have a flexible approach to working. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a similar type role, however transferrable skills from a comparable role or background will be considered. 

The ideal candidate will be able to support their team, and maintain the security of the premises and its contents (including the operation of fire and burglar alarms and key-holder responsibilities), lighting, heating and cleaning of premises (including the maintenance and operation of plant), providing porterage, defined handyperson duties, and other duties arising from the use of premise sharing their enthusiasm and commitment with both the department and to the students. An ability to work collaboratively is essential as we are a strong team.

You will demonstrate:

  • A basic understanding of health & safety.
  • Ability to work without supervision and within a team.
  • Experience of carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
  • Hold recognised training/qualifications associated with building and grounds, or able to demonstrate relevant experience.
  • Patient, calm and works well under pressure.
  • Hard working, flexible and reliable.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Take pride in a job well done and take personal responsibility for standard of work carried out.

Woodlands Academy is a single form entry primary school, with a nursery provision situation in Stockwood, Bristol. Our school is hidden off the main road, but has amazing school grounds with extensive field space, a forest area, a garden and three ponds.
