Job Title: Teacher of Humanities

King’s Oak Academy are looking for a passionate and inspiring qualified Teacher of Humanities to join our supportive and talented team. We are a growing organisation, looking for professional ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning. 

What we are looking for:

You will be used to planning and consistently delivering high quality lessons, will have experience in delivering the curriculum in your chosen area and will be a strong communicator with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students. As a well-qualified specialist, holding QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, you will have the ability to teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. We look for professionals who have excellent classroom management skills and have high expectations of work and behaviour. We wish that professionals feel empowered to develop their own expert practice and support the development of others.  

 Your duties will specifically include: 

  • Planning outstanding lessons that meet the needs of all students whilst developing a high-quality programme of study that includes accurate target setting. 
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of students and take appropriate action to ensure all students achieve their potential through exceptional methods of feedback. 
  • Meeting the needs of learners from key identified groups, including Pupil Premium, Looked After Children, SEND and High Attaining students. 
  • Recognising, valuing and supporting the delivery of opportunities which extend beyond the confines of classroom delivery and seek to enrich and add value to the students experience and learning. 

King’s Oak Academy is situated in the heart of the South Gloucestershire community and is within easy commuting distance of Bristol and Bath. The academy has been part of the Cabot Learning Federation since 2011 and benefits from being part of a mature, successful MAT (Cabot Learning Federation) which offers access to excellent professional services and opportunities to work in collaboration with experienced professionals across the Trust.

As an all-through school, King's Oak is in a privileged position to educate children for aged 4-16 and support their respective families in the local community. The academy staff structure and estates are divided into three phases (Lower School = Reception - Year 4, Middle School = Year 5-8, Upper School = Year 9 - 11). This structure ensures that learning is high quality and bespoke for each child, long term relationships are fostered with families and King's Oak employees benefit from the unique CPD and leadership opportunities that are available to them as a result of working in an all-through community school.
