About Kings Priory

What we stand for

Kings Priory School is an all through family school where every pupil is challenged to excel at all they do.

Our distinctive First, Middle and Senior schools work closely together to maximise the benefits of being all through.  Our unique curriculum includes a vibrant outdoor learning specialism and encourages every pupil to be a musician. Our relentless focus on high academic achievement is balanced with a unique enrichment programme that embraces our specialisms in outdoor learning, sporting achievement and music.

We nurture individual talent and inspire our pupils to work hard and respect others as they prepare to lead a full and successful life.

Our values are rooted in faith, delivered in unity and are central to our vision. We live our lives through faith in God, faith in others, faith in ourselves and faith in the future of our school. In unity we work together as a family, showing love and respect for others, confidence in ourselves, and pride in our environment.

Our vision is delivered through outstanding leadership and a relentless drive to improve as an organisation for the benefit of our pupils and our community.

Overview

Part of Woodard Academies Trust

The result of a merger between a thriving independent school and an outstanding community primary school, we are an inclusive, non-fee paying academy with excellent teachers, a family environment, motivated pupils and a commitment to educating the whole child - both in and outside of the classroom.

The School operates across neighbouring sites in the centre of the attractive coastal village of Tynemouth with short commuting links into Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The school is close to the ancient Priory, the mouth of the River Tyne and the beach. This historical and picturesque setting provides a stimulating learning opportunity for all of our pupils.

Kings Priory School is the top performing school in North Tyneside at Key Stage 4; pupils achieve exceptional outcomes which are well above national averages. In 2018 98% of pupils achieved a 4+ in English and 93% of pupils achieved a 4+ in mathematics. We are also very proud of the outcomes students achieve in the Sixth Form, where, in 2018, the average grade was a B- and many students went to read their chosen subjects at Russell Group universities.

Kings Priory School is part of Woodard Academies Trust multi-academy sponsor whose aim is to be a provider of world class education, transforming lives within and across communities. Our Church of England faith helps to make our school a thoughtful community and we are welcoming, positive and open to students and staff of all faiths and none.

WOODARD ACADEMIES TRUST

FAITH, UNITY AND VISION ARE THE THREE WORDS THAT CAPTURE THE VERY ESSENCE OF A WOODARD EDUCATION

Woodard Academies Trust is an education charity formed to deliver an academy programme on behalf of Woodard Schools.  Created by founder Nathaniel Woodard in 1848, Woodard is the largest group of independent Church of England Schools in England and Wales.  Woodard Academies Trust and Woodard Schools share a common ethos of faith, unity and vision and are determined to inspire young people to make a difference.

Our Christian ethos reflects our deep commitment to delivering an outstanding education to our students.  We prioritise inclusion and value individuals and our academies welcome students and staff of all faiths and none.

We excel in delivering pastoral care and personalised learning paths.   Our aim is to offer students a first-class education and teach them real-life skills that will provide lifelong benefits.  We are passionate about enrichment and the development of the whole person, so our schools and academies run extensive sporting, music, arts, community and charity programmes. Duke of Edinburgh and programmes through The National Citizenship Service feature strongly in our academies.
