Knollmead Primary School is a very diverse school with Infant and Junior provision for children with autism, and another provision for children with significant hearing impairment.

The school has good facilities for sport and outdoor activities. There is a well-equipped playground, a large playing field and an outdoor swimming pool.  We are an extremely happy school with a caring ethos and an emphasis on consideration for others.

About Us

The school is part of The Coombe Secondary Schools Academy Trust which consists of Coombe Girls’ School, Coombe Boys’ School and Coombe 6th Form.  Teachers are able to benefit from cross academy working, support and professional development opportunities.

As a primary school, we believe that young children learn best when they are stimulated by an exciting and challenging curriculum which motivates them to learn. We actively encourage children to be inquisitive about the world around them and we celebrate every child’s success. Our aim is to create a lifelong love of learning in every child.

At Knollmead we have high expectations of all our children and lessons are planned according to the variety of abilities within each class.

Living in Kingston

One of London’s liveliest boroughs. Life revolves around the Thames, with the buzzing market town of Kingston being the main attraction. Kingston High Street runs parallel to the Thames so it many of its favourite restaurants are found situated along the banks of the riverside.

With the popular Kingston University based here there is an abundance of bars and clubs to entertain the vibrant student population and younger residence.

Kingston upon Thames is one of the greener areas of the capital with two royal parks in neighbouring Richmond upon Thames. Local parks hold facilities to cater for all those who enjoy the great outdoors, such as Canbury Gardens which is home to the Kingston Rowing Club boathouse and is in turn a great spot for fishing.

Only half an hour from central London it has excellent train links. Situated near to the A3 and M25 it is also easily accessible by car. The river bus as an excellent alternative to get into Canary Wharf and London Bridge.

Landmarks

Wimbledon Championships - In the neighbouring Merton bordering Kingston, the world famous Wimbledon Championships takes place. Indulge yourself in summer fun with a spot of Pimms, and Strawberries and Cream.

The Thames - Enjoy the beauty of the Thames when the weather permits it on foot, bicycle or boat.

Kingston Markets - Hunt for bargains in Kingston’s 800 year old markets.

Chessington World of Adventure - One of the UKs biggest and best theme parks. Great for those ‘kidults’ amongst us.

“Out of Order” by David Mach- Iconic sculpture that has been snapped by tourists the world around. If you’ve seen photos of London you’ll probably have seen this.
