We have an exciting opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic Assistant Head of Year to join the team at Didsbury High School. Within this role you will assist in the management of the year group including pastoral support, achievement, attendance, attainment/progress, behavioural issues and intervention and child protection matters. Furthermore, you will establish positive relationships with parents, staff and outside agencies in line with the school’s vision and values.

This position is contracted on a 37 hours per week + 5 days Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so. In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37 out of 52 weeks.
Job Purpose (For further details on the role, please find the Job Description below)
- Undertake some personnel management duties including instructing and training their year-group Form Tutors
- Work with identified groups of students including SEND with regard to progress, engagement and achievement.
Key Skills & Experience
- Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
- Evidence of work with children/young people and involvement with parents would be advantageous
- Ideally possess prior experience within a similar role
