CEO Welcome

Across our Trust we believe that all students and pupils, regardless of background or circumstance, have the right to a high-quality academic education. All of our schools are Unashamedly Academic and behaviour in our schools is exemplary.

The Laurus Trust is continually growing, our family of schools now includes five primary Schools, six high Schools, and four Sixth Forms. In September 2024, the Trust opened Crown Street Primary School – the first new primary school to be built in Manchester City Centre in over twenty years and Laurus Grace, a small school catering for secondary students with significant social, emotional and mental health needs.

At all schools across the Trust we place great importance on our core purpose of teaching and learning, and on supporting students and pupils in developing the knowledge, attitudes, skills and habits which will enable them to flourish and succeed.

We welcome interest from forward-thinking, motivated and hard-working individuals who wish to share in our success. In return, we will provide excellent benefits , a welcoming and positive working environment and genuine opportunities for continuous progression.

“Students at the school respond extremely well to the exceedingly high expectations that leaders have set for them. Their behaviour is impeccable and they achieve highly. Students are incredibly considerate of their peers. They value differences and respect each other’s opinions.”

About The Laurus Trust

16 icons in a circle that represent the Schools that make up the Laurus Trust.

The Laurus Trust is a highly successful and growing multi-academy trust in the North West of England, with Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS), the founder school, at its centre. All our Laurus Schools are oversubscribed and have a reputation, both locally and further afield, for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and the determination to ensure that every child succeeds.

At the Laurus Trust, it is not just about what we do but also about how we do it. We like to work with individuals who are able to demonstrate our core behaviours which set out the expectations we have of our staff.

The nucleus of the Trust is our multi-functional and dedicated Central Services Team who provides continuous operational support to all of our schools across the Trust. This includes HR, Recruitment, Finance, Payroll & Pensions Administration, Marketing & Communications, IT, Estates & Facilities Management and Compliance and Data. Each team works tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching and education support staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students.

"We have a team ethic of support and encouragement which makes work an absolute pleasure. We have an extremely privileged position at the Laurus Trust. Our responsibilities in Central Services lie with each school and so we feel connected with every aspect of the organisation."

Laurus Trust Vision

"For everyone regardless of background or circumstance to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and work hard to achieve them."

The key belief across the Laurus Trust, is that the all-round educational attainment of individual students and pupils, is substantially promoted by their participation in a whole range of activities, not just classroom based academic ones. Inspiring students and pupils through these activities will enable them to become better motivated, as well as being more respected by their peers.

From nursery through to Sixth Form we will strive to provide the best all-round educational experience.

We aim for our students to have the choice of accessing the top universities and employment, to have the attitudes and habits to be successful when they get there, and the cultural preparation to think, study and lead – or influence those who lead.

To achieve our aims, our culture is founded on the following principles:

Unashamedly Academic

We place a strong emphasis on student attainment and the development of powerful knowledge through our curriculum structure. Professional learning for our staff is at the heart of our organisational culture: it is the bedrock of what we do and what we stand for.

Unapologetically Aspirational

We focus on a culture of universally high expectations and ambition in all our schools.

Uncompromising Standards

We constantly strive for excellence in every domain in every aspect of what we do.

Life at the Laurus Trust

SEND provision

A culture of inclusion

Across Laurus Trust schools we foster and promote a culture of inclusion where every student has an equal opportunity to succeed and become the best that they can be. We have high expectations for every single student regardless of background or circumstance, and we want to foster a belief in our students that they can break any aspirational glass ceilings.

We are lucky to have a large team of amazing SEND professionals, dedicated to providing the best support to our students right across our family of schools,  helping them to reach their full potential. To enable the team to provide this support and flourish in their role, we highly invest in continued professional development with a bespoke learning programme created for each member of staff, including recognised qualifications and access to a unique training and learning site.

"Pupils and students, including those who are disadvantaged and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), benefit from an ambitious and wide-ranging curriculum. Subject curriculums ensure equal opportunity for all pupils to learn a rich body of important subject knowledge. Staff carefully identify the specific needs of pupils with SEND. They ensure that these pupils are supported effectively in their lessons. Specialist staff provide expert additional support for pupils who need it."
