Learning Support Assistant

Laurus Cheadle Hulme is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school committed to ensuring every student achieves their full potential. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive SEND team on a Fixed-term basis. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to support students with a range of additional learning needs.

This position is contracted on a 32.5 hours per week Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so.

Job Purpose 

• Support identified students within the classroom environment, within small group situations.
• Work with teachers to enhance student progress, whilst also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.

Key Skills & Experience

• Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent 
• Experience of working with young people who are vulnerable and/or who have special educational needs
• Experience working in a school environment would be advantageous
