Due to the reorganisation of our Welfare and Well-being Team, we require a calm, skilled and committed Learning Mentor to work with us in our mission to secure outstanding outcomes for every single child.

We wish to recruit someone with a sound knowledge of the different challenges many Islington children face, an excellent understanding of strategies and interventions to reduce barriers to learning and successful experience of making a difference.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional, experienced in working with primary-aged pupils, to:

  • Play a defining role in empowering our children to the best version of themselves;
  • Work within a diverse and multi-skilled pastoral team, passionate about ensuring every child is safe, happy and equipped to succeed;
  • Develop and shape this newly created role - with the support of a highly skilled and experienced mentor.

The children of New North have told us they would like someone who:

  • Believes in them;
  • Is happy, kind, helpful, trustworthy and fair;
  • Hears their voice and understands where they’re coming from.

We are dedicated to appointing just the right person for our children and school. The knowledge, passion and ambition you have, no matter what stage of your career you are at, is incredibly important to us, and although we are keen to recruit as soon as possible, we are able to wait for the right candidate.

Our school is a vibrant 1.5 form entry primary, housed in an attractive, modern building with amazing outdoor learning spaces. We are situated close to Angel, Highbury & Islington and Essex Road stations.

A conversation with our Head Teacher prior to your application is warmly encouraged and can be easily arranged if you would like to find out more about the role available or to learn more about our school – please contact the school to arrange this.

We expect all staff to share the school’s commitment to the protection and safety of children and young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. Our recruitment pack and application form for this post are available to download here or on our website, or by contacting the school via email or phone.
