Learning Support Assistant

25.5 hours per week, Term Time plus 2 week (40 weeks per year)
We are seeking 2 caring, enthusiastic, and proactive Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team at The Newbridge School. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils by supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing both in and out of the classroom.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality support to individuals and small groups, helping pupils to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This role also includes involvement in our wraparound care provision and Forest School sessions, offering a varied and fulfilling working day.
Key Responsibilities
Support teachers in delivering planned learning activities to whole classes, small groups, or individual pupils.
Provide feedback on pupil engagement and progress, and support behaviour management in line with school policies.
Assist in creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
Support pupils’ development across physical, intellectual, emotional, and social domains.
Deliver focused literacy and numeracy support and contribute to Forest School sessions.
Prepare and use ICT and learning materials to enhance pupil learning.
Provide care and encouragement to pupils with SEND and support their participation in all activities.
Assist with lunchtime supervision and structured play activities.
Provide toileting and first aid support as required.
Support the delivery of wraparound childcare, including planning engaging activities and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
Assist with ordering and purchasing for the club and ensure compliance with safeguarding and hygiene regulations.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
Have experience working with children, ideally in a school or childcare setting.
Be confident, patient, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills.
Be a team player who can also work independently with initiative.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
