Attendance Officer and Administrator
Location: The Castle Rock School
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week,
Working weeks: Term Time plus 2 (40 weeks)
Salary: Grade 6 (£25,996 - £26,040) (Actual Salary £22,813)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate attendance records and manage all Attendance Office administration using SIMS.
- Monitor, analyse, and report attendance across KS3–KS5, including trips, exams, and student sign-in/out.
- Work with staff, parents, and external agencies to investigate absence and improve attendance, including running attendance clinics and meetings.
- Manage communication with parents/carers via absence systems, reports, and safeguarding-approved platforms.
- Support persistently absent students through interventions, including home visits alongside the EWO and liaison with the LA Inclusion Team.
- Maintain EHE/CME records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection processes.
- Produce and present attendance data to SLT, Governors, and Ofsted, identifying areas for improvement.
- Support the pastoral team with administrative tasks and provide reception cover when required.
- Collaborate with other schools to share and implement best practice in attendance improvement.
