Lliswerry High School is a thriving, multi-cultural, 11-18 mixed comprehensive school on the eastern side of Newport. We currently have a superb opportunity for an inspirational teacher to lead our successful International Languages & Welsh team.

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an inspirational Leader of Learning for International Languages & Welsh who will build upon the progress of our cohesive, successful department and lead it to greater successes in the future. We are looking for an experienced practitioner who will motivate and inspire our learners through their passion for the Welsh language. The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range and be a key part of the supportive team.

We welcome applications from Welsh teachers or Welsh‑speaking teachers of other disciplines. Proficiency in Welsh is essential, as the role requires Welsh to be the main language of instruction.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will:

possess excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills

possess enthusiasm, resilience, determination and a sense of humour

possess the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues and learners

be able to use data in a highly effective manner in order to support progress across the department

be absolutely committed to the vision of our school
