Lliswerry High School is a thriving, multi-cultural, 11-18 mixed comprehensive school on the eastern side of Newport close to the M4. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Grade 5 Science Technician.
Working with the Science department, you will be expected to work as an integral part of a very supportive, high achieving and well-established team. Your main duties will involve servicing laboratories, carrying out general technician duties and offering support to the delivery of the Science curriculum as appropriate through the ordering and organising of stock levels and the preparation of materials. The ideal candidate will have specific experience working within Chemistry and Electronics although this is not essential.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
● Preparing for and clearing away after practical classes
● Preparing necessary solutions
● Photocopying materials as required
● Assisting students and teaching staff during practical classes
● General duties, including maintaining preparation areas, storage rooms and teaching areas in a clean & tidy condition
A scientific related background and an understanding of safe protocols of work is essential. Candidates will have the ability to work under pressure and candidates should be strong team players, able to support and promote the schools core values.
