NQTs are welcome to apply for this post. No specific subject specialism required.

Lliswerry High School is a thriving, multi-cultural, 11-18 mixed comprehensive school on the eastern side of Newport close to the M4. We currently have a superb opportunity for an inspirational teacher to join our successful team delivering the Skills Challenge Certificate qualification in KS4 and KS5. The successful candidate could have experience in teaching Skills Challenge Certificate or experience of teaching Welsh Baccalaureate, but this is not mandatory as full support will be given to those without experience.

We are looking for an excellent NQT or experienced practitioner who will help our learners develop and demonstrate an understanding and proficiency in essential and employable skills ranging from Numeracy and Digital Literacy to Critical Thinking and Problem Solving. The successful candidate will be an essential part of the supportive Teaching Team. It is anticipated that the person appointed will:

• Possess excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills

• Demonstrate high standards of professionalism in all respects

• Be a positive role model to colleagues and learners alike

• Possess ambition, belief, resilience, determination and a sense of humour

• Possess the ability to motivate and inspire learners and to build positive relationships

• Have high expectations of themselves, colleagues and learners

• Be committed to their own professional learning

• Have the ability to develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders

• Be able to use data to support learner progress effectively

• Be committed to our school mission

If you would like to visit the school, require further information or would like to discuss this position further with the Headteacher, please e-mail or telephone Mrs Andrea Rose-Phelps (see contact details in the application instructions).

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
