Overview

Long Ditton St Mary's (LDSM) is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Junior School serving the community of Long Ditton which, although in the administrative area of Surrey, is very close to the border with the London Borough of Kingston upon Thames. LDSM falls within the Diocese of Guildford and is classified as a Fringe Area Group 2 School.

LDSM is a member of the recently formed Ember Learning Trust which comprises five local schools who have joined together to form a Co-operative Trust. This allows us to work in partnership with shared values and principles but with each school retaining its autonomy. Kingston University and Surrey County Council are partners of the Trust.

About Us

Following its recent inspection (May 2017), Ofsted rated LDSM as Good in all areas. Whilst the School has ambitions of moving to Outstanding, Governors believe that we should first consolidate our Good standards in all areas of the School before focussing on achieving Outstanding. LDSM was rated Good following the inspection by SIAMS in 2015.

We offer a creative academic environment that stretches children, whilst building their self-esteem. Our curriculum is challenging, exciting and fun. We promote a love of learning and encourage our children to do their best in everything they do.
