Music Teacher
Part time and permanent - two days per week
Required for January 2025 or as soon as possible after this date
Salary up to Surrey Main Pay Scale 6 dependent on qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm who, as a musician themselves, is passionate about creating an inspirational music experience for our children in line with our school ethos, to lead our already successful music provision.
Applicants must have A levels or above in a music discipline and/or teaching based qualification and experience of working with children.
Your role would include:
• Developing children’s musical abilities through developing and teaching an inspirational music curriculum;
• Involvement in planning and developing extra-curricular programmes to provide opportunities for children to become singers and musicians thereby enriching school life;
• Supporting school productions and Collective Worship in school;
• Working with others to plan church services;
• Coordinating and facilitating peripatetic music teachers;
• Leading our school choir;
As a Church of England school with a strong Christian ethos, the Governors particularly welcome applications from candidates who are able to support this ethos.
On 1st September 2024, Long Ditton St Mary’s Junior School and Long Ditton Infant and Nursery School formed the Long Ditton Federation. Whilst initially this post will be at Long Ditton St Mary’s CE Junior School, you could also be required to work at Long Ditton Infant and Nursery School.
