About Us

Bright Kids Lower Quinton formerly Quinton Cygnets became part of the Bright Kids family in September 2023. We operate here all year round from age birth to 11 years between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm 51 weeks of the year, excepting training days and Bank holidays. For babies, nursery & pre-school time can be booked as sessions or by the full day. Breakfast, hot meals, tea and snacks are available for all children

Why Work With Us

At Bright Kids we live by our values and therefore invest in our staff to build a resilient, professional team who are driven by passion and excellence.

  • Wellbeing and looking after your mental health – All our sites have dedicated well- being champions who are focused on ensuring our staff’s wellbeing is catered for at all our settings. This could be actions including carrying out confidential wellbeing meetings with staff members should they request it, looking at ways we can help with any matters in the workplace and making reasonable adjustments if necessary, signposting staff for any external support they may need with non-work related matters, providing healthy snacks and drinks for staff throughout the day and communicating any upcoming events, new policies or training available to our staff on well being matters. We also distribute regular newsletters focused on staff wellbeing with everything from staff blogs, external helplines and websites to healthy eating recipes and exercise tips. These newsletters are very much staff led and all the content comes from staff input which gives all our employees a voice and a platform to share their own experiences. Our company currently has 2 trained mental health first aiders who run regular well being clinics for any staff requesting them. They are completely confidential and allow the staff member to speak with someone who they don’t necessarily work closely with on a daily basis and who can offer more support and signposting to help depending on the nature of the discussions. So our focus is primarily on valuing our staff and investing in our staff. After all, the success of our company starts with a happy workforce!
  • Benefits - We offer many benefits including birthday holidays, long service holidays, quarterly attendance bonuses, a Health Cash Plan, competitive pension plan, uniform, company events, training days, plus a fantastic continuing personal development programme. We are very fortunate to have a sister training company, MBK which offers a wide range of training courses in Early Years form the essentials such as Safeguarding courses and Paediatric First Aid training to CPD courses such as Awe and Wonder and Stepping up to Management. Take a look at our MBK website to see all the courses we deliver.
  • Training Days - We hold 2 training days per year (one as a whole company and one as a site specific training day) to focus on our staff and keep their knowledge up to date as well as spending time with the team and sharing ideas and experiences.
  • Succession Planning – we want to create a workforce who feel valued and want to stay with us for the long term and progress in their career so we have a strong succession plan to help map out your career progress. Supported by regular supervisions and appraisals and one to ones with your line manager to truly ensure you are on the right track to developing your career and all training and coaching is identified and provided.
  • Flexible working options – While our nurseries need to be open from 7.30am to 6pm to provide adequate care for our children, we do have many flexible working patterns available to compliment a healthy work-life balance and we do offer condensed working hours, part time and flexi time options, flexible shift patterns, etc..
  • Positive workplace culture – the nature of our industry doesn’t allow for hybrid or home working (we cannot look after the children in our care from home) so we are passionate about building a positive workplace culture, which is kind, caring and open, plus creating homely environments where our staff are happy to come to every day and want to come to every day.

Our Nursery

Proud Member of the Bright Kids Nursery Group

Lower Quinton Nursery is proud to be part of the Bright Kids Nursery Group.

Since 1999 Bright Kids have provided quality childcare and education for children from the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years. We provide a happy bright atmosphere promoting learning through stimulating and creative play activities.

Experienced, Highly Qualified Childcare Teams

Over 95% of our team members have already achieved a recognised early years qualification rather than the 50% which is the usual requirement within children’s nurseries. We now have several graduate level staff with an Early Years Teacher qualification ahead of future legal requirements. This is proven to raise the quality of early years provision.

In addition, we keep up-to-date with the latest developments in education and we ensure that we fully inform parents of how these affect them and their children.
