Head of School

Maypole School is an independent special school who work with pupils aged 5 – 19 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan. Many present with some challenging behaviour and may have been excluded from mainstream schools.

Our Leigham Court school, above, is in Streatham at SW16 2QA, where we have a current capacity of 45 pupils on-site. The Annex building, where our Therapists and school office staff are based, is shown below. 

We provide a warm, nurturing, therapeutic approach for our pupils, which also extends to the staff team we work with.

Maypole School provides a wide range of training and career opportunities for teaching assistants, unqualified teachers & teachers.

We are happy to consider people who are wanting to gain experience prior to embarking on a career in a number of different sectors such as: social work; therapy services; educational/clinical psychology etc as well as people who are already teachers (support given for Early Careers Teachers), those who may want to train to become a teacher, and those who wish to develop their skills as teaching assistants.
