Welcome from the acting head of school

I am very proud to be the Acting Headteacher of Newhall Junior School. It is a joy to work with the children and families of this community.

The school caters for the pupils of Newhall and the surrounding areas. We are a junior school, ranging in pupil age from 7 – 11 years old. Our policies and practices are informed by Derbyshire County Council and educational research; ratified by our board of Governors. The governing board represents the wider community, local community, parents and staff.

We aim to ensure that ALL pupils are engaged and challenged in their learning, following our N.J.S pedagogy. Our aim is to encourage independent learning, ready for secondary school. We endeavour to cater for those who require additional support in academic, social and physical areas; always placing the child at the centre of every decision made. We strive to ensure that pupils enjoy their time at school, catering for the 'whole child'.
