About Us

Normandy Village School sits at the heart of Normandy and is named as such to celebrate the five parishes that make up its entirety; Christmas Pie, Willey Green, Wyke, Flexford and Pinewoods.

Having been built in the late 1800s, it opened its doors in 1879 to educate children and serve the local community; in the many years that followed, that purpose has not changed. Known today as Normandy Village School, we are a one-form entry primary school on a large site nestled amongst the leafy backdrop of Normandy village.

With a large field, playground equipment, a forest school area and a large library, the school has ample space and facilities, enabling all children to succeed. We are very proud of our school and community and are committed to ensuring that, by working in close partnership, we provide the highest quality education for our children.

About Us

Ethos and Values

Ethos and Values

Our focus is to educate the whole child, from academic success to sporting and creative achievements. To accomplish this, our school values are geared towards the whole CHILD:

C - Creativity

H - Honesty

I - Integrity

L - Loyalty

D - Diversity

We value every child's culture, hobbies, interests and ensure that these are celebrated and supported, through our creative curriculum, which encourages all children to think outside the box and provides them with opportunities to flourish in a variety of ways.

We want all children to be honest. If they need help, we want to know. Honesty underpins how staff will interact with parents and children and will play a key role in every child's development.

Linking closely to honesty, teaching the value of integrity will show children that having a high moral purpose in life is vital - teaching children to be kind and to help people just because, morally, it is the right thing to do.

To be loyal is to be faithful to those around you, no matter the temptation to renounce your values. We will help all children to be loyal to their friends, to their family and to their school community.

Our school community has a wonderful mix of cultures and backgrounds and all of these should be celebrated and respected without question. We will support our children to learn about all children's backgrounds and to ensure that as a community we treat everyone with kindness.

These values are the basis upon which we operate daily.
