The Deputy Headteacher is to take a central role in assisting the Headteacher and Governing Body to develop our school in accordance with its shared values and our school development plans.

The Deputy Headteacher is to be an outstanding, qualified primary teacher with experience across the age ranges; and have experience with assessment and curriculum planning. The Deputy Headteacher will lead and manage a team of staff in a professional setting, and be an excellent example to teaching and support staff. The Deputy Headteacher will actively and demonstrably promote inclusion, entitlement and achievement through building and implementing agreed school policies. The Deputy Headteacher will lead by example of his/her practice, and by positively encouraging and supporting all members of staff.

The Deputy Headteacher will work with the Headteacher to ensure that the school provides an inclusive, accessible, high quality and attractive learning and work environment for all children and adults.

The Deputy Headteacher will need to demonstrate high standards of personal integrity, loyalty, discretion and professionalism, and publically support all decisions of the Headteacher and the governing body.

The functions and specific responsibilities below are to be undertaken in conjunction with the duties of a Deputy Headteacher as defined in the Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.

Nutfield Church Primary School is a one form entry Voluntary Aided school and an important part of the village community. The school is set in extensive grounds which provides an ideal setting for our children to play in throughout the year.
