Curriculum Support Officer (CSO)
Salary: CAN scale 21-25 (Actual salary pro-rata £23,043 - £25,329 term time only. £27,498 - £30,225 per annum, FTE).
Working hours: 36 per week between 8.10am and 4.10pm, 190 days per year (188 term days plus 2 staff preparation days).
We are looking for a new CSO to join Oaks Park High in a non-teaching post which will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people supporting them in their school life.
The CSO will work within the allocated department (or cluster of departments) to support the smooth running of the department and relieve teaching staff within the department(s) from tasks that do not require teaching qualifications.
You will report directly to the attached SLT to the relevant department.
The CSO will supervise whole classes during short-term absence of teachers within their department and where additional cover is required within the school generally (see JD). You will also supervise students in extra-curricular, detention, study or homework clubs when required and run intervention sessions with materials provided by teachers.
The CSO will be expected to provide administrative and clerical support for the department(s) and work closely with both teaching and support staff at all levels as well as with parents/carers, students and external agencies.
Training in school systems and practices will be provided.
