Olchfa School is seeking to appoint an exceptional and dynamic Deputy Headteacher to join our forward-thinking senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader who embodies our core values of Ready, Respectful and Safe, and who can help further embed our vision for the school, centred on our cynefin. Above all, the successful candidate will be one who can provide a high-quality, professional service which enhances the experiences and outcomes of our learners.
As one of Wales’ highest-performing comprehensive schools, Olchfa is a vibrant, inclusive and outward-looking learning community. We are proud of our strong culture of professional collaboration, high expectations, and a genuine commitment to nurturing the whole child. We offer an attractive combination of a competitive pay-scale, an ambitious and innovative environment and time to do the job. In return, we expect a high degree of commitment and creativity, the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, and a willingness to take personal and collective responsibility for leadership at the school.
Olchfa’s senior leadership model centres on three inter-connected hubs. One hub covers all aspects of teaching and learning; a support for Teaching and Learning hub covers all aspects of a child’s life at school not directly connected to the classroom, including wellbeing, pastoral care and ALN; and a third hub that focuses on the business operations, including finance and staffing. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the Teaching and Learning hub and will play a central role in the strategic leadership of the school, working closely with the Headteacher to drive continuous improvement and maintain Olchfa’s reputation for excellence.
In return, you can expect:
• A high-performing, supportive and values-driven school community
• Highly skilled and dedicated staff
• Professional learning opportunities and strong support for career development
• A collaborative senior leadership team
• Motivated, capable and respectful students who are proud of their school
• Subsidised Private Health Care and use of our Calon Fitness Suite
Further information on this post is available from our Business & Finance Director, Simon Roberts. Applications may be returned by email, or by post, but must be received at the school by 8am on Friday 20th March 2026.
