Olchfa is looking to recruit a new Headteacher, following the retirement of Hugh Davies, our current Headteacher, after over 20 years of outstanding service. This is an exciting time to join, and lead, a successful, forward-thinking school.

Olchfa is a large and busy school, with warm relationships between pupils and staff. In all key stages, we achieve results which place the school amongst the leading education providers in Wales, both in raw and value-added terms. The school’s governing body, leadership team and teaching staff are never complacent; we know that we have to keep evolving what we do in order to meet the rapidly changing world around us and the needs of our pupils.

At Olchfa, we actively encourage collaborative working and research to develop innovative teaching and learning practices. Our iLearn curriculum is an example of this professional spirit. More recently, our work on ‘Developing Professional Expertise’ and our unique Master’s level programme, SIANEL, developed in partnership with UWTSD, shows that the school is highly committed to the development of its staff.

The Governing Body is committed to offering you its support and critical friendship as you lead the school; all we ask in return is your commitment to achieving excellence, your ability to inspire others and a passion for leading and developing an already successful school.  If you can demonstrate appropriate experience in a leadership role within secondary education and have the vision, knowledge and skills to lead and build on the existing strengths and qualities already in place at the school, we would like to hear from you.

Further details about the school, the role and the recruitment process are contained within the comprehensive recruitment pack that has been created.
