Pay Scale: £26,824 to £28,142 (£23,072 to £24,205 Pro rata)

Hours: 37 hours per week Term Time plus INSET days Monday - Friday. 

We are looking to appoint a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our busy and supportive team at Abbeywood Community School. This is a full time role where you will play a key part in the smooth running of our administration office. Duties will include covering reception and, when required, acting as the school’s designated First Aid support. This position will be working Term Time, plus INSET days. This position is required to cover Maternity leave and will start on 1st September 2026 and will end on 23rd July 2027 or when the individual returns from Maternity leave, whichever is sooner. 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, alongside proficiency in databases and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.

Essential Requirements:

Educated to a good standard, with at least 5 GCSEs (including English and Mathematics) at grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications

Recent and relevant experience in school-based administration and/or reception work

Willingness to obtain, or possession of, a First Aid qualification

Competence in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

A professional telephone manner and excellent customer service skills

Confidence in building positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders

High standards of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Capacity to remain calm, professional, and effective under pressure
