Dear prospective staff member,
I am thrilled that you are interested in applying to work in one of our academies. Many Multi-Academy Trusts lay claim to being unique. We have tried to set out in this pack why we think Olympus has some very compelling and distinctive elements as a sponsor, and that our roles really do present exciting and different opportunities.
We are ambitious for our academies. We live in a demanding educational landscape that brings with it challenges, but also opportunities. We are excited by the opportunities for talented and inspirational educators to make an impact and create a powerful legacy.
We seek applicants for our roles who can align with our vision and have the talent, drive and determination to deliver that vision successfully. We support all our schools with our leadership and management, school improvement, legal, financial, administrative, admissions, marketing, premises, safeguarding and HR expertise.
We think our roles are tremendously exciting ones to perform supported by the expert Olympus team.
We are inspired by our academies’journey and consider it a great privilege to design and develop a 21st century school education. We will be very interested to hear your ideas and aspirations too. If you are as excited as we are and are up for the challenge, do read through our pack to help you decide if we, and our academies, are right for you. I hope we are, and look forward to your application.
We look forward to hearing from you.
With very best wishes,
Dave Baker
The Olympus Academy Trust is a partnership of schools. The Trust currently comprises ten South Gloucestershire schools; one all-through, four secondary and five primary academies, a University Technical College and a secondary Free School which is yet to be built.
The Trust is responsible and accountable for the education of in excess of 6,500 students between the ages of 4 and 19 and for the employment and support of over 800 staff. We are:
• Non-selective, catering for students of all abilities from 4-19 years.
• Recognised for strong ethos, improving academic performance and wide-ranging extra-curricular provision.
• Situated within the districts of Bradley Stoke, Filton, Patchway, Stoke Gifford, Winterbourne and surrounding areas.
• Providing School Direct initial teacher training for over 20 trainees in partnership with the Cabot Learning Federation.
• Offering a specialist engineering pathway for Olympus students and the wider area.
• Working with the Five Counties Teaching School Hubs Alliance.
• Our Trust provides opportunities to be part of a large network of staff who support one another to create innovative teaching and learning in order to provide positive and dynamic learning experiences for the children
• As a Multi-Academy Trust, a group of schools benefits from economies of scale and has greater buying power and increased opportunities for saving money which can then be spent on improving the education for all of the children.
• Schools can share resources and services more effectively to provide consistent and continuous support for our young people in keeping with our ethos and mission.
• The Trust's central team provides wide-ranging support and expertise which frees leaders in schools to focus on well-being and outcomes.
• Greater opportunities for staff development as staff will be able to work collaboratively across the schools, facilitated and supported by the Trust Central Team.
• Changes in Government policy mean schools can be left in a very vulnerable and isolated position. By coming together as part of a Multi-Academy Trust, we are ensuring that we can continue to work in the way which we know works best for our children.
• Each of our schools is proud of its particular strengths and traditions. The Olympus Academy Trust encourages us to preserve and improve these whilst moving forward to provide an excellent education for the foreseeable future.
• Shared teaching specialisms, resources, accommodation
• Proximity of schools for learners to be able to collaborate and access a wider range of opportunities
• Access to specialist facilities and specialist subject teachers cross-phase
• Build on links that exist with siblings in different schools within the Trust
• Shared ethos, vision and values
• Commitment to an all-through learning journey, strengthening transition between phases
• Opportunity to contribute ideas for future development and innovation
• Economies of scale
Our staff members are committed, patient, resilient, reliable and reflective.
Our staff deliver quality teaching, hold their colleagues in high regard and display the highest level of professionalism. With honesty and care, our staff will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of excellence.
They are scrupulously honest and act with integrity, deal with students, parents and staff with respect, demonstrate passion and pride, are prepared, punctual and polite, and make every day matter and every student count. If this is your mind-set, and you believe in collaboration in pursuit of excellence, we want to hear from you.
We're passionate and committed to the development and education of our children.
Our young people are fearless, ambitious, positive, aware, compassionate, inquisitive, and use their mistakes to grow. They feel safe, have confidence to explore and share their ideas and take ownership of their own learning. Our learners think of others before themselves and treat their peers with respect and honour.
They take pride in their work and want to affect change within the world around them. With resilience and collaboration, our students will tread the steps of success and become lifelong learners. They value every lesson and every day, respect themselves, each other and their community, are polite, prepared and demonstrate a sense of pride.
Our parents and our community
Our passionate network of parents is fully involved in supporting their children's school vision. Parents are responsible, realistic, and want the best for all our children. Parents are encouraged to support the work of the school and to work in partnership to maximise opportunities for staff and students.
To support our amazing place to work mantra, we provide a range of staff awards to acknowledge the vital contribution of staff. We have awards for staff that exemplify the Trusts values of; Collaboration, Excellence and Opportunity through actions and behaviours and recognise the long service of staff of their dedication and commitment to the Trust.
Our overarching aim and vision is for our schools to deliver an exceptional education for children and young people, ensuring that learners have access to the highest standards of teaching, resources and learning opportunities.
We are ambitious for our academies. We live in a demanding educational landscape that brings with it challenges, but also opportunities. We are excited by the opportunities for talented and inspirational educators and professional support staff to make an impact and create a powerful legacy.
