Position: Associate Assistant Headteacher

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Pay Scale: L7-L11

Start Date: 1st June 2026 (subject to employer approval)

Lyde Green Community School is opening in September 2026, and we’re looking for a talented and ambitious leader to join our founding Senior Leadership Team. In the first year, you’ll lead Year 7 and a subject area, helping to shape the experience of our first cohort and establish the systems and culture that will define our school.

This is a rare opportunity to help launch a new school, with the chance to design systems, build culture, and influence practice from day one. As the school grows, your leadership responsibilities will evolve based on your strengths and interests, offering a clear pathway to Assistant Headship.

What you’ll lead:

• Pastoral provision and transition for our founding Year 7 cohort

• Behaviour, attendance and wellbeing systems that promote consistency and care

• Relationships with families, primary partners and external agencies

• Assemblies, tutor support and personal development across the year group

• Contribution to whole-school development and culture

This role is for you if you:

• Want to help shape a school from the ground up

• Are excited by the opportunity to lead both pastoral and academic areas in a new setting

• Thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment

• Are ready to step into senior leadership and grow into an Assistant Headteacher role

In return, we offer:

• A once-in-a-career opportunity to shape the culture and systems of a new school

• A supportive, forward-thinking Trust with a strong commitment to professional growth

• A vibrant community and a values-led approach to education

Please see the Applicant Pack and Job Description for full details.

Application Deadline: 9am on 9th January 2026

Interviews: 2nd February 2026
