Lyde Green Community School is a new, growing school with a building designed to Passivhaus principles. We’re seeking a capable, hands on Facilities Manager to ensure our site is legally compliant, safe, well maintained and fit for purpose – supporting outstanding learning every day.

In the mobilisation phase, you’ll roll up your sleeves with day to day caretaking (unlocking/locking, daily checks, room set ups, first line repairs and emergency response), while you recruit and develop the premises team and embed simple, robust systems. Training will be provided for Passivhaus operations and controls.

What you’ll lead

• Health & Safety & Compliance: statutory registers, risk assessments, permit to work, contractor control, lone working, lockdown and business continuity

• Passivhaus operations: energy/comfort monitoring, seasonal commissioning/soft landings, airtightness conscious maintenance (training provided)

• Security & Systems: key holding, access control, CCTV, intruder/fire alarms, BMS oversight

• Projects & Contractors:, manage contractors, lead/support refurb and snagging projects, maintain contractor inductions and documentation

• Community & Events: lettings coordination and logistics for open evenings, performances and exams

This role is for you if you

• Enjoy building effective systems and teams in a start up environment

• Are confident with compliance and day to day site operations

• Balance hands on caretaking with operational planning and reporting

• Are ready to learn and lead Passivhaus performance (training provided)

• Communicate clearly, solve problems proactively, and deliver best value

In return, we offer

• A once in a career opportunity to set up and lead the premises function of a new school

• Support from an experienced Head of Estates & Facilities within Olympus Academy Trust
