The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of PSHE to join our team at Winterbourne Academy on a full-time basis and lead PSHE. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference in the personal, social, health and economic education of our students, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and values they need to thrive in modern society. You will be leading the subject's taught PSHE lessons and working closely with the Associate Assistant Headteacher for Personal Development to ensure that the delivered PSHE curriculum helps meet the needs across the wider whole curriculum. As a school, we place a high importance on the subject and believe in developing the whole child.
The successful candidate will deliver a well-structured PSHE curriculum that promotes emotional wellbeing, healthy relationships, financial awareness and responsible citizenship. You will inspire students across all key stages, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive and aligned with statutory guidance.
This position comes with a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR C - £3,526), offering leadership opportunities within the PSHE provision and the wider pastoral curriculum. We are looking for someone who is committed to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to embed PSHE across the academy. A group of PSHE teachers from across the trust meets regularly to share planning and schemes of learning and the PSHE curriculum in the school is well resourced.
