The Role

Teacher of Business (Maternity Cover)

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, inspirational and highly effective Teacher of Business to join our team at Winterbourne Academy. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, commencing on 2nd November 2026 and continuing until 31st December 2027, or sooner should the substantive postholder return

The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and learning and committed to ensuring students achieve their full potential. They will inspire a love of learning, foster intellectual curiosity and support students in achieving excellent outcomes.

The Social Sciences Faculty plays a vital role within the academy, with a strong focus on Business Studies at Key Stages 4 and 5. We are seeking a candidate with the ability to teach Business across these key stages, and ability to teach Economics would be useful but not essential. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering an engaging and ambitious curriculum that enables all students to thrive and develop the knowledge and skills needed for future success.

For the right candidate, there may also be an opportunity to apply for an additional Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR), offering further leadership development and progression opportunities
