The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Psychology and Social Science teacher to join our team as Second in Social Sciences at Winterbourne Academy from 1st September 2026.

Winterbourne Academy is seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable specialist to join us as Second in Faculty, a role that comes with a TLR D (£6,262). This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious practitioner who is ready to contribute to the strategic leadership of a thriving and forward‑thinking faculty. You will support the Head of Faculty in driving high‑quality teaching and learning, shaping curriculum development, and championing the continued growth of Social Sciences across the academy. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for subjects such as Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Law and Health and Social Care who can bring learning to life and help foster curiosity, critical thinking and confidence in our students. If you are enthusiastic about influencing the direction of the department and helping young people understand the world around them, we would be delighted to hear from you. You will be an experienced teacher of psychology with the ability to teach at least one other subject in the social science suite.
