Join Our Founding Team at Lyde Green Community School

Position: Teaching Assistant

Contract: Temporary, Term Time Only plus INSET days, 20 hours/week

Pay Scale: Grade 10 £26,824 to £28,142 FTE (£12,471 - £13,084 pro rata) 

Start Date: 1st September 2026 until 31st August 2027 

Lyde Green Community School is a brand-new secondary school opening in September 2026. We are building something special from the ground up, with a strong focus on inclusion, high expectations and a culture where every learner belongs and thrives.

We are looking to appoint a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join our founding staff team. This is a rare opportunity to shape the experience of our first cohort of learners and help establish the systems, routines and culture of a new school.

Key Responsibilities

• Support learning in lessons, working with individuals, small groups and whole classes

• Help learners understand tasks and access the curriculum through clear explanation and guidance 

• Deliver and support targeted interventions under the direction of teachers and the SEND team 

• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning 

Support the delivery of provision plans and agreed strategies for learners with SEND 

• Contribute to a safe, calm and purposeful learning environment 

• Maintain an organised and supportive classroom environment
