Be part of something bold. Help build a school from the ground up.

Position: Year 7 Pastoral Manager

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only + INSET days (37 hours/week, Monday to Friday)

Pay Scale: Grade 8 £32, 597 - £35,412 per annum (£28,037 - £30,459 pro rata)

Start Date: June 2026

Lyde Green Community School opens in September 2026, and we’re looking for an exceptional colleague to lead pastoral care for our founding Year 7 cohort. In this role, you’ll build the systems, culture and relationships that ensure every child is known, safe and ready to learn from day one.

This is a rare opportunity to establish a high impact Year 7 pastoral model in a brand new school, with the freedom to innovate and the support of a forward thinking Trust.

What you’ll lead:

• A high quality, child centred pastoral strategy for the Year 7 cohort, aligned with our values

• A strong transition from primary, including induction days, settling in routines and early family engagement

• Attendance and punctuality systems, data tracking and targeted interventions

• A consistent, positive behaviour culture using restorative approaches and our Trust framework

• Day to day safeguarding triage, with timely logging/escalation via CPOMS and close work with the DSL

• SEMH support, mentoring and small group interventions to remove barriers to learning

• Coordination of the tutor programme (assemblies, tutor routines, PSHE/RSHE themes)

• Partnership working with families and external agencies to secure the right support at the right time

• Intelligent use of data (behaviour, attendance, progress) to evaluate impact and shape next steps

This role is for you if you:

• Want to help shape a school from the ground up

• Are passionate about inclusion, safeguarding and wellbeing, and relentless about high expectations

• Thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment and stay calm under pressure

• Are skilled in de escalation and restorative conversations, and great at building trust with pupils and families

In return, we offer:

• A once-in-a-career opportunity to shape the culture and systems of a new school

• A supportive, innovative Trust committed to professional growth

• A vibrant community and a values-led approach to education
