Teacher & TLR2 – Gelliswick VC School
MSC/UPS +TLR2; full time permanent
The governing body of Gelliswick CiW VC Primary School is seeking to appoint a full‑time teacher with TLR responsibility. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and reflective practitioner to join us at a time of significant development, as we bring to life our vision of a diverse and inclusive learning community—one that values everyone, provides hope, and works together to make every child’s future brighter than they imagined.
Gelliswick is a friendly and welcoming school, committed to excellent pupil care and high‑quality professional development for staff. You will benefit immediately from joining a committed, collaborative team working in state‑of‑the‑art premises opened in January 2018. The school has around 458 pupils, including 25 with complex needs who attend our well‑resourced learning resource centre.
The TLR post‑holder will lead teaching and learning across Years 3–6, with responsibility for pupil progress, pedagogy, and the Curriculum for Wales, working closely with the SLT. We are seeking a forward‑thinking, innovative practitioner who is passionate about current educational developments in Wales and eager to translate these ideas into practice.
We are looking for someone who meets the person specification and who:
• Is an excellent classroom practitioner with a proven track record
• Is passionate and knowledgeable about children’s learning and development, securing the best possible progress for all learners
• Has a strong understanding of pedagogy and is engaged with the four purposes and learning experiences central to curriculum reform
• Can model effective practice and has the skills and experience to lead a small team
This is also a fantastic opportunity for someone who:
• Is committed to equity and high standards through pedagogy and curriculum
• Would welcome the chance to lead developments in teaching and learning across the school
This post open ended, to commence on 1st September 2026.
Please contact Leanne Prevel, head teacher, if you would like to discuss the vacancy or visit the school.
