Full-Time Teaching Assistants

Welcome to Pond Meadow Academy Trust and Pond Meadow Cobham

Thank you for your interest in joining Pond Meadow Academy Trust at this exciting stage of our journey.

Pond Meadow Academy is a specialist provision supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties and communication and interaction needs.

As our provision continues to grow, we are excited to be opening Pond Meadow Cobham. This development provides an opportunity to expand our specialist offer, creating additional places for pupils while continuing to deliver the high-quality education, care and support that sits at the heart of Pond Meadow.

Pond Meadow Cobham will operate as an extension of Pond Meadow Academy Trust Guildford, supported by our established leadership, teaching and business teams. Although operating from a second location, pupils, families and staff will remain part of one academy community, ensuring consistency in our values, expectations and approach.

Pond Meadow Academy Trust is seeking a motivated, compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to join our team as part of the opening and development of our new Pond Meadow Cobham satellite provision.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new chapter for Pond Meadow, supporting the establishment of a specialist provision from the beginning while being part of an experienced and supportive academy team.

About the role

As a Teaching Assistant at Pond Meadow Cobham, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning, working closely with the lead TA, class teacher, Assistant Head and wider Pond Meadow team.

You will support the development of classroom routines, model excellent practice and promote independence, communication, engagement and positive outcomes for our pupils.

The role will involve supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, communication and interaction needs and severe learning difficulties. You will help create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where pupils are supported to achieve their potential.

As part of a developing satellite provision, you will have the opportunity to contribute to establishing effective classroom approaches, building positive relationships with pupils and families and helping to shape the culture of Pond Meadow Cobham.

Experience in SEND or autism is beneficial but not essential — full training, coaching and professional development will be provided.

What we can offer you

• The opportunity to contribute to the opening and development of Pond Meadow Cobham.

• The chance to be part of an exciting period of growth within a specialist academy.

• Support, guidance and collaboration from experienced teaching, therapy and leadership teams.

• Opportunities for continued professional development and specialist SEND training.

• A positive working environment where teamwork, ideas and initiative are encouraged.

• The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children and young people with additional needs.

• Access to Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

• Staff wellbeing support and employee benefits in line with Trust arrangements.

Safeguarding

Pond Meadow Academy Trust is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment. Rigorous safer recruitment checks will be carried out, and the successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS check.

If you are passionate about making a difference and would like to be part of developing Pond Meadow Cobham, we would love to hear from you.

Early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to interview and appoint before the closing date.

Please refer to the application pack, job description and person specification for further information.
