"An education at RGS Worcester is inclusive, challenging, and academically stimulating. In the Senior School, we offer an outstanding education for boys and girls aged 11 – 18 years with an extensive range of opportunities both in their studies and in their co-curricular experience of school life.
Our aim is to deliver excellence in all areas starting with high-quality teaching and exceptional pastoral care. RGS Worcester, as one of the oldest schools in the country, combines a sense of history, community, and place in the City of Worcester with ‘state of the art’ facilities, spacious grounds, and a determination to see each child achieve their full potential. Our Digital Learning Programme ensures that pupils are well-prepared for the future. We are pleased that our pupils attain the qualifications necessary to go on to the leading universities in the UK and abroad, and are particularly proud that they develop the personal qualities of working together, respecting one another and their community, and being open and friendly towards others.
With leading Academic results, an award-winning Careers provision, breathtaking Co-curricular opportunities, and a reputation for exceptional Pastoral Care, RGS Worcester provides an education where each pupil is cared for individually.
We strongly encourage you to come and see us, either on a formal Open Day or on an ordinary school day. You will have the opportunity to speak to staff and, in particular, to meet some of our pupils who look forward to showing you their school and all that they enjoy here.!
Mr John Pitt - Headmaster
RGS Worcester is one of the leading independent secondary schools in the West Midlands, providing the best private education in Worcestershire.
We offer an outstanding, broad education to pupils from 11-18 years of age, with an extensive range of opportunities both in their studies and in their co-curricular experience of school life and exceptional pastoral care.
Our motto ‘Cherishing the past, looking to the future’ reflects a school that combines tradition with a modern, forward-thinking approach to education. Our Digital Learning Programme inspires pupils to be active learners, and co-curricular opportunities provide them with the chance to express themselves and pursue what they love.
RGS Worcester is a welcoming and friendly school. Class sizes are small, and RGS is large enough to provide a wealth of opportunities but small enough that each pupil is treated individually and encouraged.
With leading academic results, an award-winning Careers provision, breath-taking co-curricular opportunities and excellent pastoral care, RGS Worcester is determined to see each child achieve their full potential.
The aim of the family of RGS Worcester schools is to provide an excellent all round education for children aged 2 – 18 years, supporting them in their passage to adulthood by developing character, intellect, physical and emotional well-being and cultural understanding within a supportive community.
The Schools and its staff aim to cultivate an ethos in which each pupil is cared for individually, valued equally and achieves their potential.

RGS Worcester is proud of its high academic standards, its pastoral care, and the wealth of co-curricular opportunities the School provides. Key to this success are the staff that work here. We employ a wide range of staff in addition to our well-qualified and experienced Teachers, Estates, Finance, IT, Human Resources, Specialists Technicians, Early Years Practitioners and many others across the RGS Worcester Family of Schools.
Teaching Staff at RGS Worcester come from a broad range of educational routes, some having worked in other professions before qualifying to be a Teacher. Every year we host PGCE students from local Universities. We expect all applicants to have a good degree in their subject specialism. However, a teaching qualification, whilst desirable, is not essential; we can and do provide full support for those who wish to become qualified after appointment. We are deeply committed to the professional development of our staff. Our staff who teach here will have a love of their subject and the ability to inspire and challenge and stretch able pupils to reach their potential. Our Teachers enjoy making an active contribution to co-curricular activities, both for the reward of the activity itself and because of the different dimension it gives to their relationship with their pupils.
